چکیده
Hydrogen is the most preferred choice as an energy source to replace nonrenewable resources such fossil fuels due its beneficial features of abundance, ecofriendly, and outstanding gravimetric density. Splitting water through a proton exchange membrane (PEM) electrolyzer well-known method hydrogen production. But major impediment sluggish kinetics oxygen evolution reaction (OER). Currently, scientists are struggling build out acid-stable electrocatalyst for OER with low overpotential excellent stability. In this review, mechanism characterization parameters introduced, then improvement metal nanocatalysts (noble catalysts noble metal-free catalysts) in acidic media discussed. Particularly, application single-atom summarized, which current researching focus. At same time, we also briefly introduced cluster phenomenon, easy occur preparation catalysts. More importantly, summarized situ methods X-ray absorption spectroscopy, photoelectron so forth, conducive further understanding intermediates active sites. Finally, put forward some opinions on development OER.

متن کاملElectrocatalytic Oxygen Reduction Reaction
Oxygen (O2) is the most abundant element in the Earth’s crust. The oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) is also the most important reaction in life processes such as biological respiration, and in energy converting systems such as fuel cells. ORR in aqueous solutions occurs mainly by two pathways: the direct 4-electron reduction pathway from O2 to H2O, and the 2-electron reduction pathway from O2 to...
متن کاملStructure-Dependent Electrocatalytic Properties of Cu2O Nanocrystals for Oxygen Reduction Reaction
Cu2O nanocrystals with different morphologies are synthesized via a reductive solution route by controlling the reaction time and using different capping agents. Introducing poly(ethylene glycol) (PEG) leads to nearly monodispersed Cu2O nanocubes with 40 nm size and dominant {100} crystal planes. With prolonged reaction time, the nanocubes are truncated and transformed into sphere-like nanocrys...
متن کاملHomogenous Electrocatalytic Oxygen Reduction Rates Correlate with Reaction Overpotential in Acidic Organic Solutions
Improved electrocatalysts for the oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) are critical for the advancement of fuel cell technologies. Herein, we report a series of 11 soluble iron porphyrin ORR electrocatalysts that possess turnover frequencies (TOFs) from 3 s-1 to an unprecedented value of 2.2 × 106 s-1. These TOFs correlate with the ORR overpotential, which can be modulated by changing the E1/2 of th...

A series of water-soluble molecular cobalt complexes of tetraazamacrocyclic ligands are reported for the electrocatalytic production of H(2) from pH 2.2 aqueous solutions. The comparative data reported for this family of complexes shed light on their relative efficiencies for hydrogen evolution in water. Rotating disk electrode voltammetry data are presented for each of the complexes discussed,...
